What does a NiTech crystallizer look like?

NiTech® continuous crystallizers are manufactured to suit the required throughput rate and start composition of CBD distillate. Here are some example units (intermediate and larger sizes also available):

The DN15 Standard – Glass

The smallest unit: 
A laboratory/small-scale unit, with an output of ~ 0.5 kg/h of CBD isolate (crystals leave the COBC in a slurry to be filtered and dried downstream).

DN36 ATEX/C1D1 – 316L Stainless steel

A production unit:
Output of ~ 8 kg/h CBD isolate (crystals leave the COBC in a slurry to be filtered and dried downstream).

Notes:

  1. Based on an example system of:
    1. 65 % w/w CBD in distillate;
    2. ~ 2:3 w/v distillate to heptane;
    3. 5 % w/w of 50 micron CBD isolate seed crystals added as part of a slurry;
    4. 50 minutes cooling time; and
    5. (-15)⁰C final temperature.
  2. “Net” CBD isolate production rate is quoted to account for:
    1. The mass of CBD isolate crystals which must be recycled as seed material;
    2. A conservative estimate of 10% losses by mass during filtering/washing ; and
    3. A conservative estimate of 10% losses by mass during crystal milling.
